Rosie’s Garden - West Bridgford
In 2016, I was honoured to be asked to design a memorial garden at West Bridgford Junior School, dedicated to pupil Rosie Perry Jones, who passed away from ovarian cancer just five months after her diagnosis, aged just eleven.
Her parents and the school asked for help in creating a fitting tribute, funded by the local community and brought to life through the generous support of landscapers, stone merchants, and local nurseries who donated their time and materials.
Ten years on, the garden continues to flourish, a quiet, much-loved space where pupils come to sit and find a moment of calm among the plants and curved benches.
