DESIGN CONSULTATION
The journey starts with a garden design consultation visit at your home, where we can meet you and start to understand your overall objectives however functional or whimsical. Following this meeting we will email you with a Design Fee Proposal and written design brief for your approval.
TOP LINE SURVEY
Once commissioned we will conduct a survey of the site to record all measurements and key features, apparent utilities, soil condition and aspect.
CONCEPT PLANS
Concepts are realised through aerial views and sketches, which show the overall layout of the garden. Several concepts may be draughted for discussion which helps in refining the ultimate plan. At this stage material choices, levels, plants or any intricate details of features have not been finalised. . Once happy with the Concept Plan we commence detailed design work.
MOOD BOARDS
Aspirational photos on mood boards will help to bring the design direction to life.
DESIGN PLAN
A final plan is drawn up, usually on CAD – Hand drawn if specified, noting each type of materials for hardscape. 3D visuals and animation are available for an extra fee which is strongly advised for more complex projects.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
For bespoke features, Construction Details may be necessary, to ensure that the feature is fully ‘worked out’ and that the contractor has an accurate design to build to. A fixed fee will be supplied for this before the detailed design work takes place.
PLANTING PLANS
Mood boards and scaled colour plans are created with photographs, Latin names and quantities. The plans show the exact positioning of the plants and where they fit into the scheme.
LANDSCAPER TENDERING
We work with a select group of high quality professional landscapers, and can carry out the tender process on your behalf
PROJECT MONITORING
During the construction process, we can regularly visit the site to ensure the design is executed to the agreed plan and standards. If you are appointing your own landscape contractor, should you wish, we can still work with you to monitor the works on your behalf. A separate fee proposal for this work will be included on the fee proposal document.
We can attend extra site visits and meetings with other parties, architects, greenhouse and leisure building companies, sculptors etc., which have not previously been defined in the scope of our works and be billed separately at our current hourly rates (available upon request).
PLANTING
We prefer where possible to plant up a scheme to our exacting standards or alternatively can work with you. The whole process from plant sourcing, ordering, deliveries, and installation can be arranged once the planting plan and budgets are approved.
MAINTENANCE PLAN
We can provide a written maintenance plan for yourself on a month by month instruction schedule. .
